Hillary Clinton Rules Out 2020 Election Bid

Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate in the United States of America, Hillary Clinton, has come forward to rebut speculations surrounding the 2020 presidential elections, expressly stating that she has no interest in taking a second shot at the oval office.

Clinton, who had previously served as a senator in the country’s legislative and also as the First Lady during her husband’s administration, ruled out the possibility of another campaign while responding to questions during an interview on Monday with New York TV station, News12.

According to the Guardian, while responding to the presenter’s questions, Clinton said: “I’m not running, but I’m going to keep working and speaking and standing for what I believe.”

During the 2016 presidential polls, Clinton suffered a surprising loss against Republican candidate and incumbent president, Donald Trump, despite winning the popular vote.

Her loss was allegedly motivated by the lack of trust the people had in her, by virtue of the email scandal that affected her career and race.

While this is the first time, Clinton is stepping out to either confirm or deny rumors of taking on Trump again, the former candidate (who was the first female democratic flag-bearer, and all-round first female presidential nominee for a major party in the US) also expressed her disappointment in the abysmal state of the country.

“What’s at stake in our country, the kind of things that are happening right now, are deeply troubling to me,” she said.

Speaking further on the future, Clinton announced that running for president is off the table, along with any other position in public service.

On her advice for the democratic candidates running, Clinton disclosed that show far she’s spoken to a majority of them, saying: “I’ve told every one of them, don’t take anything for granted. “

This year happens to witness the most diverse line up for the Democratic presidential primaries, with candidates such as: Bernie Sanders, who went up against Hillary for the ticket during the last elections, Californian Senator, Kamala Harris, New Jersey Senator, Cory Booker, the Mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Julian Castro and Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg among others.
